How To Use

Start 100% Dry: Do not wet your skin beforehand. Water creates a barrier that stops the active ingredients from breaking down the tan.

Warm Up the Room: Apply the product in a warm bathroom or room. Cold environments cause pores to close and skin to tighten, trapping the old tan. Warmth keeps pores relaxed and receptive.

Generous Application: Apply a thick, even layer of Purity Excel over all areas with old self-tan. Do not rub it all the way in like a lotion; it needs to sit on top of the skin to dissolve the fake tan.

Standard Tan Removal: Allow the product to sit and work its magic for at least 60 seconds.

Stubborn or Layered Tan: If you have heavy build-up, dark formulas, or tan on notoriously dry areas (like elbows, knees, ankles, and hands), leave the product on for up to 3 minutes.

Jump in the Shower or Bath: Step into warm water to begin rinsing.

Use an Exfoliating Mitt: Do not just use your bare hands or a soft washcloth. Put on a wet exfoliating glove or mitt.

Gentle Circular Motions: Buff the skin firmly but gently in circular motions. You will literally see the old tan melt and lift away.

Rinse Thoroughly: Wash away all remaining residue, leaving your skin perfectly exfoliated, silky smooth, and completely prepped for a fresh, streak-free tan application.

Is Purity Excel suitable to use on senstive skin?

For sensitive skin, we recommend using Purity Excel Sensitive (with gentle perlite exfoliation) fragrance-free, unlike the scented Purity Excel, making them much gentler for reactive skin.

Why isn’t the tan coming off instantly?

Purity Excel works by breaking down the tan pigment. For best results, apply to dry skin and let it sit for a full 60 seconds (or 3 minutes for stubborn areas) in a warm enviroment before buffing in circular motions with an exfoliating glove.

Can I use this on my face?

We recommend Purity Excel 60 Second Tan Remover Scrub for the body only as the perlite in Excel may be too abrasive for delicate facial skin.

Does it work on all brands of fake tan?

Absolutely. Our formula is designed to be universal. Whether you’ve used a tanning mousse, lotion, gradual tan, or even a professional spray tan, Purity Excel effectively breaks down the fake tan. It works across all tanning brands.

Is it normal for my skin to feel tingly with the product on my skin?

Purity Excel contains active ingredients to break down tan pigments. A slight tingling sensation is normal; however, we always recommend a patch test 24 hours before use. If irritation occurs, rinse immediately and discontinue use.
